InnoTrans 2012 -
With a large number of reference projects and over 220 transport technology firms, Berlin is the main focus of Germany's transport engineering industry and an ideal venue for InnoTrans, an international platform for buyers and sellers of passenger and freight transport technology. InnoTrans has become established as an international industry showplace focusing on Railway Technology. A full range of rail vehicles are presented in static displays on the Messe Berlin tracks located outside the exhibition halls. Other key InnoTrans features include Railway Infrastructure, Interiors, Public Transport and Tunnel Construction.
The InnoTrans Convention taking place in conjunction with the trade show includes a special Dialog Forum organized by Deutsches Verkehrsforum (German Transport Forum), Verband Deutscher Verkehrsunternehmen (VDV, Association of German Transport Companies), the European Rail Transport Industry Association (UNIFE) and Verband der Bahnindustrie in Deutschland (VDB, German Rail Industry Association). Initiated and organized by Deutsche Bahn AG, the Global Rail Leaders’ Summit (GRLS) offers excellent dialogue opportunities for transport ministries and general managers of international rail transport companies.
The Tunnel Construction segment will be accompanied by International Tunnel Forum featuring a series of discussions with international guest speakers and supported by STUVA (Incorporated Association for Underground Transport Systems) . The Public Transport Forum organized by Planungsbüro für Verkehr (PBV) and ETC Consultants focuses on current and future developments in public transport systems.
With the Public Transport & Interiors Hall Forum (PTI Hall Forum) two segments received their own program area where the Speakers' Corner, the International Design Forum and the DB Suppliers' Forum takes place. At the DB Suppliers' Forum the Deutsche Bahn goes into direct conversation with their suppliers.

7th Symposium on Pavement Surface Characteristics - The World Road Association (PIARC) is organizing, in partnership with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), the Transportation Research Board (TRB), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the Virginia Center for Transportation Innovation and Research (VCTIR) and the Center for Sustainable Transportation Infrastructure (CSTI) of the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI), the 7th Symposium on Pavement Surface Characteristics in September 2012 in Norfolk, VA.
The Symposium will include: (1) sessions based on this formal call for abstracts and papers, with peer-reviews by the scientific committee, (2) technology updates by equipment and data service providers, (3) panel discussions to identify emerging issues, research problems, and educational needs, (4) optional technical visits, and (5) an exhibition.

4th International Conference on Accelerated Pavement Testing - APT2012 provides a unique forum for participants to address the various aspects and benefits of accelerated pavement testing (APT) from an international perspective. It also provides an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences, to gain insight into needs and upcoming trends for future developments in accelerated pavement testing, and to contribute to mapping the future of APT in pavement engineering and management. Focusing on accelerated pavement testing, APT2012 will benefit APT facility owners and researchers, prospective facility owners, and road agency and pavement engineering practitioners who use or would like to use APT data for developing improved methods of pavement design.
Sessions Conference sessions include a keynote presentation, plenary sessions, a facilitated workshop to discuss the role of APT in future federal and state initiatives and how facilities should position themselves to participate in them, and more than a dozen sessions with multiple papers presented in each. The conference will include a welcoming reception on Wednesday and a conference dinner on Thursday.
